My life has been dedicated to healing my physical, emotional, and spiritual wounds. Healing from trauma has been a journey of self-discovery through awareness and peeling back the layers of protection and surviving that I had in place to keep me safe. My healing journey has brought a deep understanding of the aspects involved in finding all the parts of me that have talents and insight. My personal quest to becoming the best version of myself has stirred a passion for helping others do the same. I choose to see my painful experiences as having grown my capacity for sight, knowing, feeling, and being. My experiences have added beauty, richness, and depth to me that I would never change. My trauma experiences are unremovable parts of me and the triumph over them is something I celebrate.
I've developed many loves throughout my healing process. I've come to see how much I need exercise and nutrition to love my body. I embrace music to connect me deeply to my spirit. I need nature each day to feel the rhythmic connection to life that we all are a part of. I am grateful for journaling as it was the path to becoming my own best friend and ally. I love drawing to express the parts of me with no words, where colors and sensations live.
Many philosophies have been explored in my healing process as well. Seeking to understand my inner self, I explored philosophies (and employ aspects of them) including Astrology, Buddhism, Christianity, Earth Medicine, Hinduism, and Taoism. I consider myself a Highly Sensitive Person and am a practitioner of energy work and healing, chakra balancing and body awakening, astrology and chart interpretation.
My explorations and loves bring flavor to the methods I use in counseling others.
I am a military connected mother, spouse, and caregiver. Living through deployments and injuries has brought me a decade's worth of experiential understanding as well as a passion for helping veterans and their families!
