Teens & Children
Adolescence is an all around emotional time where a LOT of growth is happening. If you have a teenager you may feel quite overwhelmed.
If you ARE a teenager well, you know that you're going through a LOT. The pressures of becoming responsible because adulthood is coming are icing on top of a cake of school pressures, social pressures, social media, friendships, romantic relationships, the clothes you wear, your hair (and makeup), the rules imposed on you....how can you get through all of this?
Teenagers react outwardly in many ways. But inside so many teens are
feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and scared.

Confidentiality
I provide a safe and confidential place for teens to express WHATEVER is going on.

Parents: I will work with you to understand the ways your child is safe talking to me. It can be hard knowing your child is needing to talk to a counselor, it can feel like you are losing "parental control", but I assure you my main goal is your child's physical safety as well as their feeling safe. I can help you feel safe with that as well.
**A note about Self-Injury and Suicide
"The relationship between suicide and self-injury is complicated. While people with non-suicidal self injury do not intend to complete suicide, they may cause more harm than intended, which could result in medical complications or death. In severe or prolonged cases of self-injury, a person may become desperate about their lack of control over the behavior and its addictive nature, which may lead them to true suicide attempts". ~ Mental Health America (MHA.org)
